在一場龍捲風肆虐之後，一名男子站在他毀壞不堪的房子外面。散落在瓦礫之間
的是他妻子的珠寶首飾和他的珍藏品，但是他不想走進那搖搖欲墜的屋子去撿拾，
他說：「不值得為這些東西送命。」

在危機中，我們通常更容易察覺到什麼是生命中真正重要的東西。

聖詠90篇是梅瑟的禱告，這位上主的僕人縱觀生命的終始。他感慨生命的短暫
（4-6節）也明白上主的義怒（7-11節），因此，梅瑟向上主祈求智慧：「求祢指
教我們怎樣數算自己的日子，好叫我們得著智慧的心。」（12節）

其次，梅瑟祈求上主施慈愛：「求祢轉回，為祢的僕人後悔。求祢使我們早早飽
得祢的慈愛」（13-14節）。最後，他為著將來的事禱告，作為結語：「願主我們上
主的榮美歸於我們身上。願祢堅立我們手所做的工。」（17節）

我們有限的年日及短暫的生命，提醒著我們要緊緊抓住上主永恆的愛，像梅瑟一
樣，把生命專注在最重要的事情上。

美善的上主吾心敬拜；
恩慈的神子吾心頌揚；
吾心引頸期盼的永恆；
僅是慈愛滿溢的年歲。

有限的年日使我們走向祂永恆的愛

housetosearchforthem.“It’snotworthdyingfor,”hesaid.

Intimesofcrisis,oursenseofwhatistrulyimportantinlifeoftencomesintoclearer
focus.

InPsalm90,“APrayerofMoses,”thismanofGodlooksatlifefrombeginningto
end.Inlightofthebrevityoflife(vv.4-6)andtherealizationofGod’srighteousanger
(vv.7-11),MosesmakesapleatoGodforunderstanding:“Teachustonumberour
daysandrecognizehowfewtheyare;helpustospendthemasweshould”(v.12tlb).

MosescontinuesthispsalmwithanappealtoGod’slove:“HavecompassiononYour
servants.Oh,satisfyusearlywithYourmercy”(vv.13-14).Heconcludeswitha
prayerforthefuture:“LetthebeautyoftheLordourGodbeuponus,andestablish
theworkofourhandsforus”(v.17).

OurnumbereddaysandthebrevityoflifecallustoembraceGod’seternalloveand,
likeMoses,tofocusonthemostimportantthings.

WhataGodwehavetoworship!
WhataSonwehavetopraise!
Whatafutureliesbeforeus—
Everlasting,love-filleddays!—Maynard
OurnumbereddayspointustoGod’seternallove.

7這樣，我們因了你的怒火，而消耗殆盡，我們因了你的怒忿，而昏厥不振。
