大学艺术生英语听力理解问题调查研究——以广西师范大学为例的中期报告 Abstract: ThepurposeofthisstudyistoinvestigatetheEnglishlisteningcomprehensionproblemsofartstudentsinuniversities,usingGuangxiNormalUniversityasacase.Atotalof100artstudentswereselectedastheresearchsubjects,andaquestionnairesurvey,aswellasinterviewswereconductedtocollectdata.TheresultsrevealedthatartstudentshaddifficultiesinunderstandingEnglishwords,sentencestructures,accents,anddifferentspeakingrates.ItwasalsofoundthatmostofthestudentslackedinterestinEnglishlisteningandhadlowmotivationinlearning.Basedonthefindings,somerecommendationswereprovidedforimprovingtheEnglishlisteningcomprehensionofartstudentsinuniversities. Introduction: AsEnglishhasbecomeagloballanguage,itplaysasignificantroleinvariousfields.Forartstudents,Englishisessentialtotheirfuturecareers,astheymayneedtocommunicatewithinternationalartists,scholars,andaudiences.Englishlisteningcomprehensionisthefirststeptowardsmasteringthelanguage,anditisespeciallycrucialforartstudentswhoneedtolearnEnglishthroughvisualandauditorycommunication.However,manyartstudentsfinditchallengingtounderstandEnglishlisteningmaterials.ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatetheEnglishlisteningcomprehensionproblemsofartstudentsinuniversities,usingGuangxiNormalUniversityasacase. Methodology: Atotalof100artstudentsfromGuangxiNormalUniversitywereselectedastheresearchsubjects.AquestionnairesurveywasusedtocollectdataontheirEnglishlisteningcomprehensionabilities,theirattitudesandmotivationtowardsEnglishlistening,andtheirperceptionsofthefactorsthatinfluencedtheirEnglishlisteningcomprehension.Thequestionnaireconsistedofclosed-endedandopen-endedquestions.Inaddition,interviewswereconductedwithtenstudentstoprovidemorein-depthinformationontheirEnglishlisteningproblemsandexperiences. Results: TheresultsrevealedthatartstudentshaddifficultiesinunderstandingEnglishwords,sentences,accents,anddifferentspeakingrates.Specifically,78%ofthestudentsreportedthattheyoftenhadtroubleunderstandingEnglishwords,and72%ofthemfoundithardtoundersta
