Introduction: Englishwritingproficiencyisanessentialskillfornon-Englishmajorcollegestudents.However,manyofthesestudentsfacechallengesinacquiringanadvancedlevelofwritingabilityduetotheirnativelanguage'sinfluenceontheirEnglishwritingskills.Thisphenomenon,knownasnegativetransfer,hasbeenaprominenttopicofdiscussionandresearchinthefieldofsecondlanguageacquisition.Thisresearchpaperaimstoprovideanin-depthanalysisofnegativetransferinEnglishwritingamongnon-Englishmajorcollegestudentsandproposestrategiestoovercomeitsimpact. Methodology: Amixed-methodsapproachwillbeutilizedinthisstudy,combiningbothquantitativeandqualitativemethods.Aquestionnairesurveywillbeadministeredtoasampleofnon-EnglishmajorcollegestudentstogatherdataontheirexperiencesandperceptionsofnegativetransferinEnglishwriting.Additionally,aselectionofEnglishwritingsampleswillbecollectedandanalyzedforerrorsandpatternsofnegativetransfer.InterviewswillalsobeconductedwithasubsetofparticipantstoobtainmoredetailedinsightsintotheirstrategiesandchallengesinEnglishwriting.
