Introduction: Languagetransfer,theinfluenceofalearner'sfirstlanguage(L1)ontheirsecondlanguage(L2),hasbeenwidelystudiedtobetterunderstandlanguagelearningdifficulties.NegativetransferreferstoinstanceswhereL1structures,vocabulary,orpronunciationpatternsimpedetheacquisitionoftheL2.Englishmajors,whostudyEnglishastheirmajorinuniversity,oftenencounterdifficultiesintheirEnglishwritingduetotheinterferenceoftheirnativelanguage.ThispaperaimstoexaminetheimpactofmothertonguenegativetransferonEnglishmajors'Englishwritingandexplorepotentialsolutionstomitigatethesechallenges.
