Introduction: KunquOpera,originatinginthe14thcentury,representsoneoftheoldestformsoftraditionalChinesetheater.Itsrichculturalheritageandartistictechniqueshavecaptivatedaudiencesthroughouttheages.WiththegrowinginternationalinterestinChineseculture,thetranslationofKunquOperasubtitleshasbecomecrucialforintroducingthisartformtotheglobalstage.However,duetothelinguisticandculturaldifferencesbetweenChineseandEnglish,translatingKunquOperasubtitlesposessignificantchallengesthatrequirespecialattention. LiteratureReview: 1.TranslationofTheaterSubtitles:Thissectionwillreviewexistingresearchonthetranslationofsubtitlesintheaterperformances,examiningvarioustranslationstrategiesemployedindifferentculturalcontexts. 2.KunquOperaTranslation:ThissectionwillscrutinizepreviousstudiesspecificallyfocusingonthetranslationofKunquOpera,discussingthechallengesfacedanddiscussingexistingtranslationpractices.
