Methodology: 1.Participants:Adiversegroupofhighschoolstudents(aged15to18)fromdifferentschoolswillbeselectedforthestudy. 2.ExperimentalDesign:Thestudywilladoptaquasi-experimentalpre-testandpost-testdesign,withacontrolgroupandanexperimentalgroup. -ControlGroup:Studentsinthisgroupwillreceiveregularclassroominstructionwithoutanyadditionalinterventionsrelatedtoindependentreading. -ExperimentalGroup:Studentsinthisgroupwillreceivetargetedinterventionstodeveloptheirindependentreadingskills.Theseinterventionsmayinclude: a)LibraryVisits:Providingstudentswithregularopportunitiestovisittheschoolorlocallibrarytoexplorevariousgenresandselectbooksoftheirinterest. b)ReadingActivities:Designingactivitiesthatencourageactivereading,suchasbookreviews,discussions,andpresentations. c)ReadingChallenges:Organizingreadingcompetitionsorchallengesamongstudentstopromotereadingmotivationandcreateareadingculture. d)PeerReadingGroups:Encouragingstudentstoformreadinggroupswheretheycandiscussandrecommendbookstoeachother. e)ParentInvolvement:Engagingparentsbyprovidingresourcesandsupporttocreateaconducivereadingenvironmentathome. 3.DataCollection: -Pre-test:Administeringapre-testtomeasurestudents'readingskills,readinghabits,readingmotivation,andattitudestowardsindependentreading. -Intervention:Implementingtheaforementionedstrategiesintheexperimentalgroupoveraperiodofseveralmonths(e.g.,oneacademicsemester). -Post-test:Administeringapost-testtoevaluatetheprogressmadebyboththecontrolandexperimentalgroupstudents.
