少数民族高中生英语学习动机研究——以毕节地区民族中学为例 Title:AStudyontheEnglishLearningMotivationofEthnicMinorityHighSchoolStudents-ACaseStudyofEthnicMiddleSchoolsinBijieRegion Abstract: ThepurposeofthisstudyistoexploretheEnglishlearningmotivationofethnicminorityhighschoolstudentsinBijieRegion.Amixed-methodsapproachinvolvingsurveysandinterviewswasutilizedtocollectdata.TheresultsrevealedthatwhileethnicminoritystudentsinBijieRegiongenerallydisplayedapositiveattitudetowardsEnglishlearning,therewerevariousfactorsinfluencingtheirmotivation,includingpersonal,cultural,andeducationalaspects.ThefindingshaveimplicationsforeducatorsandpolicymakersindesigningeffectiveEnglishlanguagelearningprogramsforethnicminoritystudents. Introduction: EthnicminoritystudentsinChinafacenumerouschallengeswhenitcomestoEnglishlanguagelearning.UnderstandingtheirmotivationsforlearningEnglishiscrucialfordevelopingappropriateteachingstrategiestomeettheirneeds.ThisstudyaimstoexaminetheEnglishlearningmotivationofethnicminorityhighschoolstudentsinBijieRegion,withafocusonthefactorsthatinfluencetheirmotivation.Byunderstandingtheirmotivations,educatorsandpolicymakerscanbettersupportandenhancetheEnglishlearningexperienceofthesestudents. Methodology: Thisstudyemployedamixed-methodsresearchdesign,combiningquantitativesurveysandqualitativeinterviews.AscalemeasuringEnglishlearningmotivationwasadministeredtoasampleof300ethnicminorityhighschoolstudentsinBijieRegion.Additionally,semi-structuredinterviewswereconductedwithasubsetofstudentstogainadeeperunderstandingoftheirmotivations. Results: ThesurveyresultsindicatedthatethnicminorityhighschoolstudentsinBijieRegiongenerallyhadpositiveattitudestowardsEnglishlearning.Themajorityofstudentsidentifiedintrinsicmotivation,suchaspersonalinterestanddesireforself-improvement,astheirprimarydrivingforce.Additionally,extrinsicmotivations,suchasfuturecareerprospectsandparentalexpectations,alsoplayedaroleinmotivatingstudents. Theinterviewssupportedthesefindingsandshedlightonadditionalfactorsinfluencingstu
