彝族高中生英语阅读动机研究——以民族高级中学为例 摘要 本研究通过问卷调查的方式,探究了彝族高中生在英语阅读方面的动机来源及其影响因素。研究结果表明,彝族高中生在英语阅读方面的动机主要来源于英语学科的重要性、个人兴趣和学术成就的追求。此外,身边的人和激励机制也对他们的英语阅读动机有一定的影响。最后,本研究提出了相应的建议,以帮助彝族高中生提高英语阅读动机,从而有效提升其英语学习成果。 关键词:彝族高中生;英语阅读;动机 Abstract Throughaquestionnairesurvey,thisstudyexploresthesourcesofmotivationforYihighschoolstudentsinEnglishreadinganditsinfluencingfactors.TheresultsshowthatthemotivationofYihighschoolstudentsinEnglishreadingmainlycomesfromtheimportanceofEnglishsubjects,personalinterests,andthepursuitofacademicachievements.Inaddition,peoplearoundthemandmotivationmechanismalsohaveacertainimpactontheirEnglishreadingmotivation.Finally,thisstudyproposescorrespondingsuggestionstohelpYihighschoolstudentsimprovetheirmotivationinEnglishreading,therebyeffectivelyimprovingtheirEnglishlearningoutcomes. Keywords:Yihighschoolstudents;Englishreading;motivation 1.Introduction Withthefurtherdevelopmentofglobalization,Englishhasbecomemoreandmoreimportantinvariousfields.AsoneoftheethnicminoritiesinChina,theYipeoplealsoattachgreatimportancetoEnglishlearning.However,duetodifferentculturalbackgroundsandlanguagehabits,itisdifficultforYihighschoolstudentstohaveenoughmotivationtolearnEnglish,especiallyintermsofreading.ThelowmotivationofEnglishreadingwillinevitablyleadtolowreadingabilityandpooracademicperformance.Therefore,itisofgreatpracticalsignificancetostudythemotivationofEnglishreadingofYihighschoolstudents. 2.Literaturereview 2.1Definitionandfeaturesofmotivation Motivationreferstotheinnerdrivingforcethatpromptsindividualstoengageinaparticularbehavioralactivity.Tuckman(1991)believesthatmotivationisnotadirectdrivingforcethatdeterminesbehavior,butaninterveningvariablebetweenenvironmentandbehavior. 2.2Factorsaffectingmotivation Thefactorsaffectingmotivationcanbedividedintotwocategories:internalandexternal.Theinternalfactorsmainlyincludepersonalinterests,values,self-efficacy,andlearninggoals.Theexternalfactorsincludesocialexperience,culturalbackground,familyeducation,andschoolcharacteristics. 2.3E
