Background Withtheglobalizationofeducationandtheincreaseininternationalcommunication,Englishhasbecomeanessentiallanguageforcommunicationandexchangeinvariousindustries.However,theexcessiveemphasisonwesterncultureinEnglisheducationatChineseuniversitieshasledtotheneglectofChineseculture.ThissituationposesathreattothepreservationanddevelopmentoftraditionalChineseculture,anditalsoimpactstheabilityoflocalstudentstocommunicateininternationalcontexts. UniversityEnglishteachingprogramshavetraditionallybeendesignedtofittheneedsoftheinternationaljobmarket.However,inrecentyears,peoplehaverecognizedtheimportanceofconsideringtheculturalcontextoflanguagelearning.Inresponse,manyuniversitiesaroundtheworldhavestartedtoincorporatelocalcultureintotheirlanguageteachingprogramstomakelearningmoremeaningfulandrelevant. ResearchMethod ThispaperemploysqualitativeresearchmethodswithacasestudyapproachtoanalyzethephenomenonofthelackofChinesecultureintheEnglishlanguageteachingprogramatShaoxingUniversity.Aliteraturereviewwasconductedtoprovideatheoreticalframework,andinterviewswithEnglishteachersandstudentswereconductedtoobtainfirsthandinformationforanalysis. Results ThestudyfoundthattheEnglishteachingprogramatShaoxingUniversitylackstheintegrationofChinesecultureinseveralaspects,includingcoursecontent,materials,andteachingmethodology.TheEnglishtextbooksusedintheuniversitymostlyfeaturewesterncultureandtraditions,whichkeepstudentsawayfromunderstandingthediversityoftheChineseculture.Moreover,theteachershadlimitedknowledgeofChinesecu
