英语专业大学生写作中的词汇产出变化研究 Title:ChangesinVocabularyProductionamongEnglishMajorsinCollegeWriting Abstract: ThispaperinvestigatesthechangesinvocabularyproductionamongEnglishmajorsincollegewriting.Thestudyaimstoexaminewhetherthefrequencyandtypesofwordsusedbytheselearnershavechangedovertime,andtoidentifythefactorsthatcouldhavecontributedtothechanges.Thestudyusedamixed-methodsapproach,includingacorpusanalysisofalargedatasetofstudentessays,aswellasaquestionnaireandinterviewswithasmallgroupofparticipants.TheresultsshowthatEnglishmajorstendtousemorecomplexandvariedvocabularyintheirwritingovertime,andthatfactorssuchasexposuretonewvocabulary,writingpractice,andmotivationallplayaroleinthisdevelopment.Theimplicationsofthesefindingsforlanguageteachingandlearningarediscussed. Introduction: AslearnersofEnglishasaforeignlanguage,collegestudentsmajoringinEnglishareexpectedtodeveloptheirlanguageskillsinvariousdomains,includinglistening,speaking,reading,andwriting.Amongthese,writingisoftenconsideredoneofthemostchallengingskillstomaster,asitrequiresthelearnerstonotonlyhaveagoodcommandofvocabularyandgrammar,butalsotobeabletoapplytheminacoherentandpersuasiveway.Inordertowriteeffectively,EnglishmajorsneedtobeabletoproduceawiderangeofEnglishwordsintheirwriting,includingbothcommonandmorespecializedvocabulary.Inthispaper,wewillinvestigatethechangesinvocabularyproductionamongEnglishmajorsintheircollegewriting,andexplorethefactorsthatcouldhavecontributedtothesechanges. LiteratureReview: Previousstudiesonchangesinvocabularyproductionamonglanguagelearnershaveyieldedmixedresults.Someresearchershavefoundevidenceoflexicalgrowthamonglearnersovertime,astheybecomemoreexposedtonewwordsandhavemoreopportunitiestousethem(Cobb,2007;Schmitt&Zimmerman,2002).Othershavesuggestedthatlearners'vocabularydevelopmentmayplateauatacertainpoint,andthatfurtherprogressmayrequiremorefocusedanddeliberateeffort,suchasvocabularylearningstrategies(Coxhead,2000;Nation,2001).
