大学生英语阅读培训有效性研究的中期报告 Introduction Englishreadingisoneofthemostimportantskillsthatuniversitystudentsneedtodevelopforacademicsuccessandcareeradvancement.However,manystudentsstrugglewithEnglishreadingduetovariousreasonssuchaslackofinterest,inadequatepreparation,andpoorcomprehensionskills.Toaddressthisissue,manyuniversitiesofferEnglishreadingtrainingprogramstohelpstudentsimprovetheirreadingskills.Thepurposeofthisresearchistoevaluatetheeffectivenessofsuchtrainingprogramsandidentifythefactorsthatcontributetotheirsuccess. Literaturereview PreviousstudieshaveshownthatEnglishreadingtrainingprogramscanhelpimprovestudents'readingskills,vocabulary,andcomprehension(Yousefzadeh,2015).Theseprogramstypicallyfocusonteachingreadingstrategies,suchaspredicting,skimming,scanning,inferencing,andsummarizing,whichhelpstudentsengagewiththetextmoreeffectivelyandenhancetheirunderstanding(Rahimietal.,2020).Moreover,trainingprogramsthatincorporatetechnology,multimedia,andinteractivelearningmethodshavebeenfoundtobemoreengagingandeffectivethantraditionalmethods(Cheonetal.,2012). SeveralfactorshavebeenidentifiedascrucialforthesuccessofEnglishreadingtrainingprograms.Theseincludethequalityofthematerialsused,theeffectivenessoftheteachingmethods,thelevelofstudentengagement,andtheinstructors'expertiseandexperience(Kim&Lee,2019).Moreover,individualdifferencesamongstudents,suchastheirmotivation,attitudetowardsreading,andEnglishproficiency,canalsoplayasignificantroleindeterminingtheprogram'ssuccess(AbdulMalik&Al-Futaisi,2019). Methodology Thisresearchusedamixed-methodsapproachtoevaluatetheeffectivenessofEnglishreadingtrainingprogramsinauniversitysetting.ThestudywasconductedatalargepublicuniversityinChinaandinvolvedasampleof100studentsfromvariousmajorswhoparticipatedinanEnglishreadingtrainingprogramofferedbytheuniversitylanguagecenter.Theprogramwasdesignedtolastfor12weeksandincludedatotalof36hoursofinstruction,whichconsistedoflectures,groupdiscussions,andpracticalexercises.
