Methods:
Togatherdata,bothquantitativeandqualitativeresearchmethodswereemployed.Asurveywasconductedamongjuniormiddleschoolstudentsfromvariousschools,includingquestionsabouttheirstudyhabits,motivations,challenges,andresourcesutilizedforindependentEnglishlearning.Additionally,in-depthinterviewswereconductedwithstudents,teachers,andparentstogathermoredetailedinsights.
CurrentSituation:
1.StudyHabits:
a)MajorityofstudentsstudyEnglishindependentlyathomeafterschool.
b)Studentsspendanaverageof1-2hoursdailyonindependentEnglishstudy.
c)Asignificantnumberofstudentsrelyononlineresources,suchaslanguagelearningappsandwebsites,forself-study.
2.Motivations:
a)DesiretoachievegoodgradesinEnglishexaminationsmotivatesmanystudentstostudyindependently.
b)RecognizingtheimportanceofEnglishforfuturecareerdevelopmentisanotherdrivingforce.
c)InterestinforeignculturesandexposuretoWesternmediaserveasadditionalmotivatingfactors.
3.Challenges:
a)Lackofself-disciplineandtimemanagementskillshinderconsistentstudyhabits.
