英语专业听力材料体裁与听力焦虑的相关性研究的中期报告 MidtermReportontheRelationshipbetweenEnglishListeningMaterialsandListeningAnxietyintheEnglishMajor Introduction: DuringtheEnglishlanguagelearningprocess,listeningoccupiesacentralandcrucialrole,especiallyforEnglishmajors.However,listeninganxietymayimpedethelearningeffectivenessofEnglishlanguagelearners,whichraisesconcernsinthefieldoflanguageeducation.ThisstudyaimstoinvestigatetherelationshipbetweenlisteningmaterialsandlisteninganxietyinEnglishmajorstudents. Methodology: Thisstudyrecruited200undergraduateEnglishmajorsfromauniversityinChinatoparticipateintheresearch.Aquestionnairesurveywasusedtocollectdata,whichincludedfourparts:thefirstpartcollecteddemographicinformationofparticipants;thesecondpartmeasuredstudents'listeninganxietylevelwiththeForeignLanguageListeningAnxietyScale(FLLAS);thethirdpartevaluatedstudents'listeningcomprehensionlevelwiththeTestofEnglishasaForeignLanguage(TOEFL)listeningsection;thefourthpartinvestigatedstudents'preferencesfordifferenttypesoflisteningmaterials,includinglectures,podcasts,movies,andsongs.ThedatacollectedwereanalyzedwithSPSS26.0. Results: Theresultsshowedthattheaveragescoreoflisteninganxietywas2.77outof5,indicatingthatEnglishmajorshadmoderatelisteninganxiety.ThelisteninganxietylevelwasnegativelycorrelatedwiththeTOEFLlisteningcomprehensionscore(r=-0.47,p<0.01),indicatingthatthehigherthelisteninganxietylevel,thelowerthelisteningcomprehensioncapability.Intermsoflisteningmaterials,moststudentspreferredlectures(67.5%),whileonlyasmallnumberofstudentschosesongs(6.5%).Therewasasignificantdifferenceinthepreferenceforeachtypeoflisteningmaterial(F=29.12,p<0.001).Specifically,studentswithlowlisteninganxietytendedtofavorlectures,whilethosewithhighlisteninganxietypreferredpodcasts. Discussion: TheresultsofthisstudysuggestthatlisteninganxietyisnegativelyassociatedwithEnglishlisteningcomprehensionlevels,whichhighlightstheimportanceofreducinglisteninganxietyinEnglishlisteningeducation.Furthermore,students'preferencefordif
