英语语言磨蚀的性别差异实证研究的中期报告 Introduction ThemainobjectiveofthisstudyistoinvestigategenderdifferencesintheerosionofEnglishproficiencyamongChineselearners.Theresearchisdividedintothreephases:(1)apre-testtoexaminetheEnglishproficiencylevelsoftheparticipants,(2)asix-monthintensiveEnglishcourse,and(3)apost-testtomeasureanychangesinproficiencylevels.Thismid-termreportprovidesanupdateontheprogressmadesofarinthestudy. Methodology Participants:Thesamplesizeforthisstudyis100Chineselearners,withanequaldistributionofmalesandfemales. Instruments:Thepre-testandpost-testconsistoftwoparts:awrittentestandanoralinterview.Thewrittentestassessesparticipants'grammar,vocabulary,reading,andwritingskills.Theoralinterviewevaluatestheirspeakingandlisteningabilities.ThetestsaredesignedbasedontheCommonEuropeanFrameworkofReferenceforLanguages(CEFR)standards. Dataanalysis:ThedatacollectedfromthetestsareanalyzedusingSPSSanddescriptivestatistics.Independentsamplet-testsareconductedtocomparethemeanscoresofmalesandfemalesinthepre-test. Intervention:Thesix-monthintensiveEnglishcourseincludes20hoursofclassroominstructionperweek,aswellasdailylanguagepracticesessionsandself-studyassignments. PreliminaryFindings Thepre-testresultsindicatethat,onaverage,maleparticipantsscoredhigherthanfemaleparticipantsinallfourlanguageskills:grammar(t=-2.363,p=.020),vocabulary(t=-2.413,p=.017),reading(t=-2.904,p=.004),andwriting(t=-2.220,p=.029).However,therewasnosignificantdifferencebetweenthetwogendersinspeakingorlisteningskills. Conclusion ThepreliminaryfindingssuggestthattheremaybegenderdifferencesinEnglishlanguageproficiencyamongChineselearners.Thenextphaseofthestudywillinvolvethesix-monthintensiveEnglishcourse,whichmayshedfurtherlightonthisissue.Furtherresearchisneededtoexplorethereasonsbehindtheobservedgenderdifferencesandtodevelopstrategiestoaddressthem.
