中国英语专业大学生英语学习过程中的句法迁移现象研究的中期报告 Introduction: SentencesyntaxtransferisacommonphenomenonamongChineseEnglishmajorswhenlearningEnglish.Theaimofthisstudyistoexplorethereasonsbehindthisphenomenonandfindpossiblewaystoimprovethestudents'Englishlanguagelearningprocess.Thisreportwillpresentthemid-termfindingsofthestudy. LiteratureReview: Accordingtoexistingliterature,thereasonsbehindsentencesyntaxtransferincludetheuseofL1(Chinese)sentencestructureinL2(English)sentenceconstructionbecauseofthelackofunderstandingofEnglishsentencesyntax,theinfluenceofChinesegrammarandsyntaxrules,andthedirecttranslationofChinesesentencesintoEnglish.ThesereasonscausethestudentstostrugglewhenproducingandcomprehendingEnglishsentencesandresultinpoorEnglishlanguageproficiency. Methods: Thestudyusedamixed-methodapproach,whichinvolvedcollectingqualitativeandquantitativedatafrom50ChineseEnglishmajors.Thedatawerecollectedthroughasentencecompletiontask,aquestionnaire,andinterviews.Thesentencecompletiontaskrequiredtheparticipantstocomplete10Englishsentenceswiththecorrectsyntaxaccordingtotheinstructionsprovided.Thequestionnaireassessedtheparticipants'self-ratedEnglishlanguageproficiency,timespentonEnglishlanguagelearning,andlearningstrategiesused.Theinterviewsaimedtogaindeeperinsightsintothestudents'Englishlanguagelearningprocessandthefactorsthatinfluencetheirsentenceconstructionandcomprehension. Results: ThepreliminaryanalysisofthedatashowedthattheparticipantscommonlymadesyntacticalerrorsintheirsentenceconstructionduetotheinfluenceofChinesesentencesyntaxrulesandthelackofunderstandingofEnglishlanguagesyntaxrules.Additionally,theparticipantsusedtranslationastheirprimarylearningstrategy,whichresultedindirecttranslationerrors.Theparticipants'self-ratedEnglishlanguageproficiencywasfoundtobelowerthanexpected,andtheyspentlesstimeonEnglishlanguagelearningthantheyexpected. Conclusion: TheresultsindicateaneedformoresignificanteffortstoaddresssentencesyntaxtransferinEnglishlanguagelearningamongChineseEnglishmajors.Thef
