中—英双语者的词汇—概念记忆表征研究的中期报告 Introduction Thepurposeofthisreportistoprovideamid-termupdateonourresearchprojectaimingtoinvestigatethevocabulary-conceptualmemoryrepresentationofChinese-Englishbilinguals.Inthisreport,wewillsummarizetheresearchprogress,includingmethods,results,andimplications. Method Participants Thestudyrecruited40Chinese-Englishbilinguals(20males,20females)aged20-30.Allparticipantswereright-handedandhadnormalorcorrected-to-normalvision.Theywerescreenedforanyneurologicalorpsychologicaldisorders,andnoneofthemreportedanyhistoryofbraininjuryorpsychiatricillness. Materials AsetofChineseandEnglishvocabularylistswith400wordseachwascreated,containingnouns,verbs,adjectives,andadverbsthatarecommonlyusedindailylife.Thelistswerematchedinwordfrequencyandconceptacrosslanguages.Inaddition,asetofpicturestimulicorrespondingtothevocabularyitemswasalsocreated. Procedure Participantswererandomlyassignedtooneoftwogroups.Group1wastestedontheirChinesevocabularyandGroup2wastestedontheirEnglishvocabulary.Inawithin-subjectdesign,participantscompletedtwosessionsoftasks(oneforeachlanguage)usingacomputer-basedparadigm.Eachsessionconsistedofthreetasks:1)apicturenamingtask,2)acategoryfluencytask,and3)alexicaldecisiontask. Results Analysisofaccuracyandreactiontimedatashowedthatparticipantsperformedsignificantlybetteronthepicturenamingtaskthanonthecategoryfluencytaskandthelexicaldecisiontask.Thissuggeststhatthevisualrepresentationofwordsinrelationtotheirconceptsisstronglyaccessibleinbothlanguages.Furthermore,thebilingualadvantagewasobservedinbothlanguages,indicatedbyfasterreactiontimesandgreateraccuracyinthebilingualscomparedtomonolingualsinpreviousstudies. Implications Themid-termfindingssuggestthatbilateralactivationofvocabulary-conceptualmemoryrepresentationsoccursinbilinguals,regardlessoflanguage.Thebilingualadvantagemaybeduetotheenhancedefficiencyofcorticalprocessingresultingfromtheexperienceofmanagingtwolanguages.Theseresultswillcontributetotheunderstandingoftheneuralmechanismsunder
