Introduction: Englishlisteningskillsareessentialforthesuccessofvocationalcollegestudentsastheypreparetoentertheprofessionalworkforce.However,manystudentsstruggletodevelopeffectivelisteningskillsduetovariousfactors,suchaslimitedexposuretoEnglish-speakingenvironmentsandtraditionalteachingmethods.Chunkteaching,aninnovativeapproachthatfocusesonteachingstudentscommonlyusedphrasesorchunksoflanguageinsteadofindividualwords,hasgainedattentioninrecentyears.ThisstudyaimstoexploretheimpactofchunkteachingontheEnglishlisteningskillsofvocationalcollegestudents. Methodology: Thestudyconsistedofthreephases:pre-test,intervention,andpost-test.Participantswererandomlyassignedtoeitherthecontrolgrouportheexperimentalgroup.Thecontrolgroupreceivedtraditionalteachingmethods,whiletheexperimentalgroupreceivedchunkteachinginadditiontothetraditionalmethods.Alisteningcomprehensiontestwasadministeredtoallparticipantsasthepre-test,andthetestscoresservedasthebaselineforcomparison.Theexperimentalgroupthenreceivedchunkteachingforaspecificduration,afterwhichbothgroupstookthepost-test.ThelisteningcomprehensiontestconsistedofaudiorecordingsofauthenticEnglishmaterials,followedbycomprehensionquestions.
