LiteratureReview: 1.MotivationforEnglishlearning:Previousresearchhasidentifiedvariousmotivationalfactors,suchasinstrumentalmotivation(careerprospects),integrativemotivation(interculturalcommunication),andintrinsicmotivation(personalinterest).Thesefactorsmaydifferamongnon-Englishmajoruniversityfreshmen. 2.Learnerautonomy:Learnerautonomyreferstolearners'abilitytotakeresponsibilityfortheirownlearningprocess,setgoals,andengageinindependentlearning.Itisimportanttoinvestigatetherelationshipbetweenlearners'motivationandtheirlevelofautonomy. Methodology: 1.Participants:Non-Englishmajoruniversityfreshmenwillberecruitedasparticipantsforthisstudy.Arepresentativesamplewillbeselectedfromdifferentfacultiesanddepartments. 2.Datacollection:Amixed-methodsapproachwillbeadoptedfordatacollection.Asurveyquestionnairewillbeusedtocollectquantitativedataregardingparticipants'motivationforEnglishlearning,whileinterviewswillbeconductedtoobtainqualitativedataonlearnerautonomy. 3.Dataanalysis:Quantitativedatawillbeanalyzedusingstatisticaltechniques,suchasSPSS,toidentifymotivationalfactorsprevalentamongnon-Englishmajoruniversityfreshmen.Qualitativedatawillbeanalyzedthematicallytoexploreparticipants'perceptionsandreflectionsonlearnerautonomy.
