LiteratureReview Priorresearchoncriticalreadingemphasizesthesignificanceofengagingstudentsinactivereadingexperiences.Throughcriticalreading,studentsdeveloptheircriticalthinkingskills,enhancetheircomprehensionabilities,andbecomemoreindependentlearners.Additionally,studieshaveshownthattheuseofexplicitinstruction,scaffoldingtechniques,andmetacognitiveapproachescanfurtherenhancestudents'criticalreadingskills. Methodology Toconstructtheteachingmodelforcriticalreading,amixed-methodapproachwillbeemployed.Thestudywillbeconductedintwophases.Inthefirstphase,quantitativedatawillbecollectedthroughpre-andpost-teststoassesstheinitialreadingabilitiesoftheparticipantsandtheirimprovementaftertheimplementationoftheteachingmodel.Additionally,surveyswillbeadministeredtogatherstudents'perceptionsoftheinstructionalstrategiesused. Inthesecondphase,qualitativedatawillbecollectedthroughclassroomobservationsandinterviewswithstudentsandteachers.Thesequalitativedatawillprovideadeeperunderstandingoftheteachingstrategiesemployedandtheirimpactonstudents'criticalreadingabilities.Thedatawillbeanalyzedusingcontentanalysismethodstoidentifyemergingthemesandpatterns.
