Keywords:single-lobecam,solidmodeling,motionsimulation,geometricrepresentation,mechanicalsystems 1.Introduction Single-lobecammechanismsareextensivelyusedinmechanicalsystemstoconvertrotarymotionintolinearoroscillatorymotion.Theaccuraterepresentationandsimulationofthecamsurfaceanditsmotionareimperativeforthedesign,analysis,andoptimizationofthesemechanisms.Traditionalmethodsforsolidmodelingandmotionsimulationofcammechanismssufferfromlimitationssuchasapproximationsinsurfacerepresentationandlackofaccuracyinmotionsimulation.Thispaperproposesanovelmethodthataddressestheselimitationsandprovidesamorerobustandaccuratesolution. 2.SolidModelingofSingle-LobeCam Thefirststepintheproposedmethodisthesolidmodelingofthesingle-lobecam.Anewapproachisintroducedtorepresentthecamsurfaceaccurately.Thecamprofileisapproximatedbyaseriesofarcsegments,whichcanyieldahighdegreeofaccuracyinmodelingthecomplexgeometryofthecam.Themethodincorporatesaparametricapproachtocontroltheshapeandsizeofthecamlobes,allowingflexibilityinthedesignprocess.Theaccuracyofthesolidmodelingisvalidatedthroughacomparisonwithatraditionalmodelingapproach. 3.MotionSimulationofSingle-LobeCam Thesecondstepintheproposedmethodisthemotionsimulationofthesingle-lobecam.Thecammechanismisanalyzedinavirtualenvironmenttosimulateitsmotionandevaluateitsperformance.Akinematicanalysisisconductedtodeterminethedisplacement,velocity,andaccelerationofthefollowerforagiveninputmotion.Theimpactofdifferentdesignparam
