Introduction: SerratiamarcescensisaGram-negativebacteriumthathasgainedsignificantattentionasapotentialbiocontrolagentagainstvariousinsectpests.Itsabilitytoproducesecondarymetaboliteswithinsecticidalactivitymakesitapromisingcandidateforthedevelopmentofbiopesticides.Inthisstudy,wefocusonthediscoveryandcharacterizationofanovelinsecticidalgenefromS.marcescens,referredtoasSYP-1.
