初中英语作文教师反馈调查研究 Introduction AsEnglishisbecomingtheuniversallanguage,Englishlanguageeducationanditseffectivenessareveryimportant.InthecontextofChina,themiddleschoolEnglisheducationsystemaimstoequipstudentswiththeabilitytocommunicateinEnglish.However,theEnglishlanguageteachingmethodologiesandassessmentsystemsusedhavecomeunderscrutiny.Inthispaper,wewillfocusonteachers’feedbackregardingtheirteachingmethodologiesandassessment,andwillsuggestsomerecommendationsforimprovement. Background EnglishistaughtinallmiddleschoolsinChina,andteachersutilizevariousteachingstrategies,includinglecture-basedteaching,audio-visualandtechnologicalaids,andgroupactivitiesandrole-plays.Despitetheadoptionofvariousteachingmethodologies,studentresultsinEnglishproficiencytestshavebeenunderwhelming.Researchersattributethistoineffectiveteachingstrategiesandassessmenttools. Methodology Weconductedanonlinesurveyinwhichover200EnglishteachersinmiddleschoolsinChinaparticipated.ThesurveywascreatedusingGoogleFormsandwasdesignedtocollectdataonteachers’feedbackontheirteachingmethodologiesandassessmentpractices.Theresponseswereanalyzedusingdescriptivestatistics. Findings 1.Teachingmethodologies Oursurveyrevealedthatthemostcommonlyusedteachingmethodologyinmiddleschoolswaslecture-basedteaching.Therespondentsalsoshowedapreferenceforusingaudio-visualandtechnologicalaidstopromotelanguagelearning.However,halfoftherespondentsacknowledgedthattheyoftenrelyonrepeatinggrammarrulesinclassasaprimaryteachingmethod.Thesamegroupofteachersbelievedthatthisapproachdoesnotleadtolong-termlanguageacquisition.Athirdoftheteacherswereconcernedaboutincorporatingcreativityintotheirteaching. 2.Assessmentpractices Overhalfofoursurveyparticipantsbelievedthatthecurrentassessmenttools(suchasfinalexams),donotadequatelymeasurestudents’Englishproficiencyandabilities.Thiswasinpartduetotheover-emphasisofgrammarrules,vocabulary,andtranslationpracticeinEnglishclassrooms.Teachersarguedthatexamsshouldbebasedoncommunicativecompetence,wherestudents’abi
