NegativeTransferPhenomenon Mothertonguenegativetransferreferstotheinterferenceofthemothertongueintheacquisitionandproductionofasecondlanguage.InthecontextofEnglishwriting,thistransferoccurswhenstudentsapplythegrammar,syntax,andvocabularyrulesoftheirnativelanguagetoEnglishwriting,leadingtoerrorsandinaccuracies.Forexample,Chinesestudentsmightstrugglewithwordorder,verbtenses,andpluralformsduetodifferencesbetweenEnglishandChinesegrammar. FactorsContributingtoMotherTongueNegativeTransfer SeveralfactorscancontributetotheoccurrenceofmothertonguenegativetransferinEnglishwriting.Firstly,limitedexposuretoEnglishinputandlackofEnglishlanguagepracticeleadtoastrongerinfluenceofthemothertongue.Secondly,theinfluenceofteachersandparentswhomightnotpossessadvancedEnglishwritingskillscaninadvertentlyreinforcestudents'relianceonthemothertongue.Finally,thedifferencesingrammaticalstructuresandrhetoricalpatternsbetweenthenativelanguageandEnglishcanfurtherexacerbatethenegativetransfer.
