高职院校英语专业学生自主学习模式研究 Abstract AstheeducationalsysteminChinachanges,thereisagrowingtrendofincorporatingself-directedlearningintohighereducation,particularlyinEnglishmajorprograms.Thispaperexaminestheimplementationandeffectivenessofself-directedlearninginvocationalcolleges,focusingonEnglishmajors.Throughareviewofrelatedliteratureandempiricalresearch,thepaperarguesthatimplementingself-directedlearninginEnglishmajorprogramsinvocationalcollegescanresultinpositiveoutcomesforstudents,includingimprovedlanguageproficiency,increasedmotivationandengagement,andthedevelopmentofessentiallifelonglearningskills. Introduction Theintroductionofself-directedlearning(SDL)inhighereducationhasbeenagrowingtrendinrecentyears.SDLallowsstudentstotakechargeoftheirownlearning,leadingtoamorepersonalizedandflexiblestyleofeducation.ThemovetowardsSDLinhighereducationhasbeendrivenbytheneedtopreparestudentsforlifelonglearninginanever-changinganddynamicsociety.Giventherapidlychangingnatureofsociety,thereisaneedtohelpstudentsdevelopskillsthatensuretheirreadinessforfutureworkdemands. Oneareawhereself-directedlearningcanbeparticularlyeffectiveisinlanguagelearning.Asoneofthemostimportantareasofstudyinvocationalcolleges,Englishisessentialforstudentstosucceedintheirfuturecareers.Inthispaper,wewillexploretheimplementationandeffectivenessofself-directedlearninginvocationalcolleges,particularlyinEnglishmajorprograms.
