Keywords:Englisheducation,master'sthesis,writing,survey,challenges,improvement Introduction: Englisheducation,asadiscipline,playsacrucialroleinChina'seducationalsystem.TheimportanceofeffectiveEnglishwritinghasincreasedsignificantlyatbothacademicandprofessionallevels.Master'sthesesserveasasignificantcomponentofhighereducation,astheydemonstratestudents'researchskillsandcapabilities.ConsideringthesignificanceofEnglisheducationmaster'sthesiswriting,itisessentialtoexamineitscurrentsituationandidentifyareasforimprovement. Methodology: InordertoinvestigatethecurrentsituationofEnglisheducationmaster'sthesiswritingatHuazhongNormalUniversity,asurveywasconductedamongasampleofpostgraduatestudentsspecializinginEnglisheducation.Thesurveyquestionnaireconsistedofclosed-endedandopen-endedquestions.Atotalof100studentsparticipatedinthesurvey,providingvaluableinsightsintothechallengesandsuggestionsforimprovement. ResultsandDiscussion: 1.Students'Experiences: Thesurveyrevealedthat65%oftheparticipantsfacedchallengesinlinguisticexpression,particularlyintermsofgrammar,vocabulary,andsentencestructure.Manystudentsmentionedthattheystruggledwitheffectivelyexpressingtheirideasinacoherentandconcisemanner. 2.ResearchDesign: Approximately40%ofthestudentsfounditchallengingtodesignempiricalstudiesthatalignwithcurrentresearchmethodologies.Thissuggestsalackofpracticalresearchexperienceandinsufficientknowledgeofresearchdesignmethod
