ListeningSelf-Efficacy Self-efficacyisdefinedasthebeliefinone'sabilitytoperformaspecifictasksuccessfully(Bandura,1977).Inthecontextoflistening,self-efficacyreferstothebeliefinone'sabilitytounderstandspokenlanguage.Researchhasshownthatself-efficacyisastrongpredictoroflisteningperformance(MacIntyre&Gardner,1994).Studentswhohavehighself-efficacyinlisteningaremorelikelytobemotivatedtoengageinlisteningtasksanduseeffectivelisteningstrategies(Lin,2015).
