英语专业学生在观看英文电影中的词汇附带习得研究 Title:IncidentalVocabularyAcquisitionofEnglishMajorStudentsthroughWatchingEnglishMovies Abstract:Englishmovieshavebeenacommonsourceofentertainmentandlearningformanyindividuals,especiallyforthosewhoarestudyingEnglishasasecondlanguage.ForEnglishmajorstudents,watchingEnglishmoviesisnotonlyaformofentertainmentbutalsoanopportunitytolearnthelanguageandtoimprovetheirlanguageskills.ThispaperaimstoexploretheincidentalvocabularyacquisitionofEnglishmajorstudentsthroughwatchingEnglishmovies.Theresearchwasconductedbyanalyzingtheprocessofvocabularyacquisitionthroughsurveysandinterviews.TheresultsindicatethatEnglishmajorstudentsacquirednewwords,whichtheyretainlonger,whilewatchingEnglishmovies.ThispapersuggeststhatincorporatingEnglishmoviesinlanguagecoursesmayenhancevocabularyacquisitionandlanguagecompetence. Introduction: Englishisawidelyusedlanguageintheworld,anditisthemostcommonlylearnedsecondlanguageglobally.Englishlanguagelearnershavemultiplesourcestolearnthelanguage.OneofthemostabundantsourcesoflearningEnglishisthroughmoviesandtelevisionseries,whichofferamoreauthenticandengagingenvironmentforlanguagelearners.EnglishmajorstudentsarerequiredtoachieveahighlevelofEnglishproficiencyinthefourlanguageskills:reading,writing,listening,andspeaking,tomeetthedemandsoftheirprofession.WatchingEnglishmoviesisanentertainingandeffectivemethodtoenhancelanguageskills,vocabularyacquisitioninparticular.ThepurposeofthisstudyistoinvestigatetheincidentalvocabularyacquisitionofEnglishmajorstudentsthroughwatchingEnglishmovies.
