在职研究生英语自我效能感的调查研究 Introduction Inrecentyears,moreandmorepeoplehavechosentopursuefurthereducationwhilebeingemployed.Amongthem,theMasterofBusinessAdministration(MBA)degreehasbecomeparticularlypopular.Asaresult,theconceptof“workplacelearning”hasemerged.Whilestudyingandworkingatthesametimecanbringfinancialbenefits,itmayalsocausestressandanxiety.Inthisstudy,weinvestigatetheself-efficacybeliefsofemployedpostgraduatespursuinganMBAdegree.Wehypothesizethatself-efficacycanbeadeterminingfactorinMBAstudents’academicperformanceandmentalhealth. LiteratureReview Self-efficacyiswidelydefinedasone’sbeliefinone’sabilitytoperforminspecificsituations(Bandura,1997).Itisanimportantconceptinpsychologyandeducation,asself-efficacybeliefshavebeenlinkedtoacademicperformance,jobsatisfaction,andwell-being(Chenetal.,2015;Panetal.,2017;Stajkovic&Luthans,1998).Inthecontextofworkplacelearning,self-efficacycanhelpindividualsmanagetheirworkload,copewithstress,andachievetheirgoals(Huangetal.,2019). MBAstudentsfaceuniquechallengeswhenitcomestoworkplacelearning.Ontheonehand,theymustfulfilltheirjobresponsibilitiesandmeettheexpectationsoftheiremployers.Ontheotherhand,theyneedtoattendclasses,completereadingsandassignments,andprepareforexams.Thiscanleadtoconflictsandstress,aswellasasenseofinadequacy.InastudybyChengandcolleagues(2015),MBAstudents’self-efficacywasfoundtobeasignificantpredictoroftheiracademicperformance.Thosewhobelievedintheirabilitytosucceedintheircourseworktendedtoperformbetterthanthosewhodidnot. Methods Participants Theparticipantsinthisstudywere100employedpostgraduatespursuinganMBAdegreeinauniversityinChina.Theywererecruitedthroughconveniencesampling.Thesamplewascomposedof45menand55women,withameanageof29years(SD=3.6).Allparticipantssignedinformedconsentformsandwereassuredoftheiranonymityandconfidentiality.
