认知功能视角下的英语使移构式研究的中期报告 【Introduction】 Englishtransitivemovementconstructions(ETMCs)havebeenextensivelyinvestigatedinpreviousliteraturefromvariouslinguisticperspectives,includingsyntax,semantics,andpragmatics.However,mostofthesestudieshavefocusedontheformalpropertiesofETMCs,leavingthecognitivemotivationbehindtheconstructionrelativelyunexplored.Therefore,thisstudyinvestigatesthecognitiveprocessesthatunderlietheuseofETMCsfromacognitive-functionalperspective,aimingtoshedlightonthecognitivemechanismsinvolvedintheproductionandcomprehensionofETMCs. 【TheoreticalFramework】 Thisstudyadoptsthetheoreticalframeworkofcognitivelinguistics,whichfocusesonthesymbolicnatureoflanguageandthewaysinwhichlanguagereflectsourcognitiveandbodilyexperiences.Specifically,thestudydrawsontheCognitiveGrammarmodel(Langacker,2008),whichpositsthatlanguageisasystemofsymbolicunitsthatallowspeakerstoconstruemeaningbymeansofconceptualizationandcategorization. 【ResearchQuestions】 1.WhatarethecognitiveprocessesthatunderlietheproductionandcomprehensionofETMCs? 2.Howdothesecognitiveprocessesinteractwiththeformalpropertiesoftheconstruction? 3.WhatistheroleofcontextintheuseofETMCs? 【Methodology】 Thestudyemploysacorpus-basedapproach,usingtheBritishNationalCorpus(BNC)astheprimarydatasource.ThestudyfocusesonasampleofETMCsextractedfromthecorpusandanalyzesthemintermsoftheirformalpropertiesandcognitivemotivation.Theanalysisinvolvesidentifyingthesemanticandpragmaticfunctionsoftheconstruction,aswellastheconceptualmetaphorsandimageschemasthatunderlieitsuse. 【PreliminaryFindings】 1.TheuseofETMCsismotivatedbythecognitiveprocessesofconstrualandcategorization,whichallowspeakerstorepresentandorganizeconceptualrelationshipsbetweenentitiesintheworld. 2.TheformalpropertiesofETMCs,suchastransitivityandmovement,areconstrainedbythecognitiveprocessesinvolvedintheirproductionandcomprehension. 3.ThecontextinwhichETMCsareusedplaysanimportantroleindeterminingtheirsemanticandpragmaticfunctions,aswellastheconceptualmappingsthatunderliethe
