Introduction: ThemaritimehistoryofChinadatesbacktotheNeolithicperiod,butitwasduringtheHanDynasty(206BCE-220CE)thatChinabegantoestablishmaritimetradeandexpanditsmaritimeterritories.Sincethen,Chinesesailorshavenavigatedtheseasusingtheirknowledgeofastronomy,geography,windandoceancurrents,andbyobservingmarinelifeandlandforms.Asaresult,arichvocabularyofnauticaltermshasbeendevelopedoverthecenturies,capturingthecomplexitiesofseafaringandreflectingtheuniqueculturalvalues,beliefs,andpracticesoftheChinesepeople. However,thelackofacomprehensiveandsystematicclassificationofancientChinesenauticaltermsandtheirEnglishequivalentshasposedchallengesforscholarsandstudentsofChinesemaritimehistory,aswellasforprofessionalsinthemaritimeindustry.TheaimofthisresearchprojectistofillthisgapbyprovidingacomprehensiveandsystematicclassificationofancientChinesenauticalterms,aswellastheirEnglishtranslationandexplanation. Methodology: TheresearchmethodologyinvolvesacomprehensivereviewofprimaryandsecondarysourcesrelatedtoChinesemaritimehistory,includinghistoricalrecords,encyclopedias,dictionaries,andacademicjournals.Specialattentionisgiventotheidentificationofnauticalterms,theirusage,andculturalconnotations.Thenauticaltermsarethenclassifiedintofivecategoriesbasedontheirfunctionsandcontexts.Theclassificationschemeisreviewedandrevisedbasedonfeedbackfromex
