Whilewegetintouchwiththosepeoplewhocomefromareasthataredifferentfromus,orwhohavediversevaluesorrituals,wecannotdenythefactthatthoughsamedistrictsomepeoplearefrom,thereexistshugedivergesbetweenmaleandfemale,whichisso-calledgendergapininterculturalcommunication.Andforbusinessmenorbusinesswomen,theyworkasthepromotionambassadoroftheircompany,successfulcommunicationhelpalotwiththebusinesstransaction.Ignoringthegenderissueinit,wemaygointoaawkwardsituationevenbringaboutunnecessarytroubleswithusbecausesometimesitisquitestrictanduncharitableaboutthegenderissuesinsomeplacesoftheworld. sowhataresupposedtodowhenconfrontedwithgendergapintheinterculturalcommunication?Frommyperspective,weshouldhaveboththerightconceptionsandcorrespondingactionsintheprocessofinterculturalbusinesscommunication. Foronething,toassociatewithforeignersinaformalbusinesssituation,we'dbetterfindoutifthereisanyprohibitiveandspecialrulesaboutthegenderissuesoftheircountry.Socommonsenseaboutdecentmannersforthegenderissuesisessential.Forexample,inmanycountries,itistraditionthatmanhavehigherpositionoverwomansuchasJapanandArabicareas.Ifyoutreattheminthismanner,thenthemaleguestswillfeeltheyareinsultedbyyour"equalrespect"andfemaleguestsmayfeeluneasyandembarrassedbecauseintheirminds,theyareservedinthewaywhichtheydonotdeserve.What'smore,itisimportantforustoavoidjudgementinourownvalues.ForuswomeninChina,wehaveequalpositionswithmenbothinlawanddailylife,wearebroughtupattheatmospherethat"womenhaveequalrightswithmen,andwomenholdhalfofthesociety",itisnaturalforustotakeitasgrantedthat
