Chinese-GermanJournalofClinicalOncologyNovember2010,Vol.9,No.11,P656–P659 DOI10.1007/s10330-010-0691-5 Aclinicaltrialofcytokineinducedkillercells treatingpatientswithmalignanttumorafter radiochemotherapy JingTian1,DonghaiTeng2 1DepartmentofOncology,ThePeople’sHospitalofLeshan,Leshan614000,China 2DepartmentofUrology,ThePeople’sHospitalofLeshan,Leshan614000,China Received:28August2010/Revised:15September2010/Accepted:10October2010 ©HuazhongUniversityofScienceandTechnologyandSpringer-VerlagBerlinHeidelberg2010 AbstractObjective:Ourstudyinvestigatedtheimmunitychangesandlifequalitychangesafterthetreatmentofcytokine inducedkiller(CIK)cellsforpatientswithmalignanttumorafterradiochemotherapy,andexploredthetherapeuticeffectsof CIKcellsonthesepatients.Methods:Thirty-onepatientswithmalignanttumorafterradiochemotherapyweretreatedwith CIKcells.BeforeandafterCIKcellsbeingtransfusedback,theimmunityindexesoftheperipheralbloodofthesecaseswere detectedandthechangesoflifequalityofthesecaseswerecompared.Results:Afterradiochemotherapy,thepercentage ofCD3+,CD4+cellsdeclined,thepercentageofCD8+cellsrose;theratioofCD4+/CD8+declined,andthepercentageof CD16+,CD56+cellsdeclined.Asalltheaboveindexescomparedwiththatofnormalpeople,thedifferencewassignificant (P<0.05).AfterCIKcellstherapy,theaboveindexesimproved(P<0.05).LifequalityimprovedsignificantlyafterCIKcells therapy(P<0.05).Conclusion:Radiochemotherapycaninhibittheimmunityinpatientswithmalignanttumor.CIKcells therapyissafeandeffective.Itmayimprovetherecentimmunityandlifequalityofthepatients,whichsuggestingthatitmay beanalternativemaintenancetreatmentforpatientswithmalignanttumorafterradiochemotherapy.
