大连交通大学2009届本科生毕业设计（论文）外文翻译外文原文IntroductiontoMATLABMATLAB(shortforMatrixLaboratory)isaspecial-purposecomputerprogramoptimizedtoperformengineeringandscientificcalculations.Itstartedlifehasaprogramdesignedtoperformmatrixmathematics,butovertheyearsithasgrownintoaflexiblecomputingsystemcapableofsolvingessentiallyanytechnicalproblem.TheMATLABprogramimplementstheMATLABprogramminglanguageandprovidesanextensivelibraryofpredefinedfunctionsthatmaketechnicalprogrammingtaskseasierandmoreefficient.ThisbookintroducestheMATLABlanguageandshowshowtouseittosolvetypicaltechnicalproblems.MATLABisahugeprogram,withanincrediblyrichvarietyoffunctions.EventhebasicversionofMATLABwithoutanytoolkitsismuchricherthanothertechnicalprogramminglanguages.Therearemorethan1000functionsinthebasicMATLABproductalone，andthetoolkitsextendthiscapabilitywithmanymorefunctionsinvariousspecialties.ThisbookmakesnoattempttointroducetheusertoallofMALTLAB′sowntoolstolocatethecorrectfunctionforaspecificpurposefromtheenormouschoiceavailable.AdvantagesofMATLABMATLABhasmanyadvantagescomparedwithconventionalcomputerlanguagesfortechnicalproblemsolving.Amongthemarethefollowing:EaseofUseMATLABisaninterpretedlanguage,likemanyversionsofBasic.LikeBasic,itisveryeasytouse.Theprogramcanbeusedasascratchpadtoevaluateexpressionstypedatthecommandline,oritcanbeusedtoexecutelargeprewrittenprograms.Programsmaybeeasilywrittenandmodifiedwiththebuilt-inintegrateddevelopmentenvironment,anddebuggedwiththeMATLABdebugger.Becausethelanguageissoeasytouse,itisidealforeducationaluse,andfortherapidprototypingofnewprograms.Manyprogramdevelopmenttoolsareprovidedtomaketheprogrameasytouse.aworkspacebrowser,andextensivedemos.PlatformindependenceMATLABissupportedonmanydifferentcomputersystems,providingalargemeasureofplatformindependence.Atthetimeofthiswriting,thelanguageissupportedonwindows9x/NT/2000andmanydifferentversionsofUNIX.Programswrittenonanyplatformwillrunonalloftheotherplatforms,anddatafileswrittenonanyplatformmaybereadtransparentlyonanyotherpl
