Body Feedbackisanessentialaspectofteachingandlearningthathelpstofosterdevelopmentinstudents.Itisaneffectivetoolforteacherstocommunicatewiththeirstudentsabouttheirperformanceandprogress.Feedbackservestomotivatestudentstoimprovetheiracademicperformanceandprovideasenseofdirection.OneofthecharacteristicsoffeedbackprovidedbymiddleschoolEnglishteachersistimelydelivery.Feedbackismoreeffectivewhenitistimelyasitallowsstudentstograsptheconceptstaughtinclass.Teachersshouldprovidefeedbackassoonaspossibleafterthecompletionofthetaskassignedtothestudents. Additionally,feedbackshouldbespecificandactionable.Specificfeedbackprovidesstudentswithaclearunderstandingoftheareastheyneedtoimproveonasithighlightstheirstrengthsandweaknesses.Ontheotherhand,actionablefeedbackgivesstudentsasenseofdirectiononwhattheyneedtodotoimprovetheirperformance.Forinstance,insteadoftellingastudentto“improveyourwritingskills,”amiddleschoolEnglishteachercangivespecificandactionablefeedbacksuchas“focusonusingfeweradjectivesandmoreactionverbsinyourwriting.” Moreover,effectivefeedbackshouldbeconstructive.Teachersshouldprovidefeedbackthatencouragesandinspiresstudentstoimprovetheiracademicperformance.Constructivefeedbackisfreefromcriticismbutinsteadprovidesstudentswithpositivereinforcement.Thistypeoffeedbackensuresthatstudentscontinuetomakeimprovementsintheirlearningoutcomesandremainmotivated.
