PIDControl PIDcontrolisafeedbackcontrolmechanismthatusesthreetypesofcontrolactionstomaintainasetpointortargetvalue.ThesethreecontrolactionsareProportional(P),Integral(I),andDerivative(D).ThethreecontrolactionsareusedtogethertoformthePIDcontrolalgorithm.ThePIDalgorithmisarobustcontrolmechanismthatcanhandlevariousnonlinearitiesanddisturbancesinasystem. TheProportionalcontrolactionprovidesacontrolsignalproportionaltotheerrorbetweenthesetpointandtheprocessvariable.TheIntegralcontrolactionprovidesacontrolsignalproportionaltotheintegraloftheerrorovertime.TheDerivativecontrolactionprovidesacontrolsignalproportionaltotherateofchangeoftheerrorwithrespecttotime.Bycombiningthesecontrolactionstogether,thePIDcontrolalgorithmgeneratesanoverallcontrolsignalthatmaintainsthesystem'ssetpoint. SingleNeuronPID SingleNeuronPIDisasimplifiedversionofthetraditionalPIDalgorithmthatusesasingleneurontocombinethethreecontrolactionsofP,I,andDtogether.TheSingleNeuronPIDalgorithmhasonlytwotuningparameters:gainanddecaytime.Thegainparameterdeterminesthestrengthofthecontrolsignal,whilethedecaytimedeterminesthespeedatwhichthecontrolsignaldecaysovertime.TheSingleNeuronPIDalgorithmprovidesasimplifiedyeteffectiveapproachtothePIDcontrolalgorithm. FlowRatioControl Flowratiocontrolisanimportantcontrolapplicationinindustrialprocessesthatinvolvesthecontroloftheratiobetweentwoflowrates.Theflowratiocontrolisessentialincontrollingthequalityandconsistencyoftheendproduct,whichdependsonmain
