CausesofScaleAccumulation: 1.WaterQuality:Thequalityofthefeedwatersuppliedtothesteamturbineunitplaysasignificantroleinscaleformation.Impuritiessuchasdissolvedminerals(e.g.,calciumandmagnesium)andsuspendedsolidscanprecipitateout,leadingtoscaledeposits. 2.HighTemperatureandPressure:Theoperationofasteamturbineunitinvolveshightemperaturesandpressures,whichpromotethedepositionofscale.Thescale-formingmineralsinthewaterbecomelesssolubleastemperaturesincrease,resultingintheprecipitationandaccumulationofscales. 3.pHImbalance:ImbalancedpHlevelscancontributetoscaleformation.Bothhighlyacidicandhighlyalkalineconditionscanacceleratetheprecipitationofmineralsandpromotescaleaccumulation. 4.InadequateWaterTreatment:Inadequatewatertreatmentprocesses,includinginsufficientremovalofimpuritiesandimproperselectionofcorrosioninhibitors,cancontributetotheformationofscales.Whenwatertreatmentisnotproperlymanaged,scalescanaccumulatequicklyandcauseseveredamage. CausesofCorrosion: 1.DissolvedGases:Dissolvedoxygenandothergasespresentinthefeedwatercancausecorrosioninasteamturbineunit.Oxygencorrosionisparticularlydamaging,asitrapidlyattacksmetalsurfaces,leadingtopittingandmetalloss. 2.ChlorideandSulfateIons:Highlevelsofchlorideandsulfateionsinthewatercancausecorrosioninsteamturbines.Theseionsarehighlycorrosiveandcanreactwithmetalsurfaces,leadingtopittingcorrosionandstresscorrosioncracking. 3.LowpH:LowpHlevels,resultingfromacidformationorinadequatewatertreatment,cancontributetocorrosion.Acidicconditionsacceleratethecorrosi
