高职院校基础英语与行业英语的衔接研究 Introduction WiththegrowingimportanceofEnglishlanguageinboththeinternationalanddomesticmarketplace,theacquisitionofEnglishproficiencyhasbecomeacrucialfactorinimprovingthecareerprospectsofChinesegraduates.Consequently,itisessentialforvocationalcollegestudentstonotonlymasterthebasicsofEnglishgrammar,vocabulary,andsyntaxbutalsoacquirethespecificlanguageskillsfortheirchosenprofessions.Therefore,thispaperaimstoinvestigatethechallengesandstrategiesintheintegrationofbasicEnglishandindustry-specificEnglishinvocationalcolleges. ChallengesintheIntegrationofBasicandIndustry-SpecificEnglish ThefoundationofEnglishlanguageproficiencyliesinthemasteryofbasicgrammar,vocabulary,andcommunicationskills.Yet,vocationalcollegestudentsmaystrugglewiththelanguage'scomplexitiesduetofactorssuchasinadequatelanguagetrainingintheirearliereducation,limitedexposuretotheEnglishlanguage,andvaryinglevelsoflanguageaptitude(Ling,2018).Consequently,educationalinstitutionsmayneedtoconductathoroughneedsanalysistodeterminethestrengthsandweaknessesofstudents'languageproficiencylevels.Additionally,teachersmustdesigneffectiveteachingandlearningstrategiesthataddressstudents'individuallearningneedsandoffertargetedinstructionbasedontheirexistingknowledgeofbasicEnglish. Moreover,theintegrationofindustry-specificEnglishposessignificantchallengestostudentswhostrugglewiththecontextualandspecializedlanguageconventionsrequiredintheirrespectiveindustries(Lu,2017).Giventhetechnicalnatureofcertainprofessions,studentsmaystrugglewiththespecificvocabulary,jargon,andtechnicaltermsrequiredintheirfields.Whiletraditionaltextsandclassroom-basedactivitiesprovideagoodstartingpoint,instructorsmayneedtosupplementthecurriculumwithmorepractical,hands-onlearningactivitiessuchasfieldtrips,internships,andco-opprograms,toexposestudentstoreal-worldscenariosandopportunitiesforusingspecializedlanguageapplications(Ling,2018).Furthermore,instructorsmayneedtorelyonindustryprofessionalstoassistindevelopingandco-deliveringthecur
