Firstly,letusbrieflyintroducethesetwoconcepts.Hubcapfinsaresmallfinsattachedtothehubofapropeller.Theirpurposeistocontroltheflowofwateraroundthehubandreducetheturbulence,whichcanimprovepropulsionefficiency.Skewedpropellers,ontheotherhand,havebladesthataretwistedorangledaroundtheaxisofrotation.Thisdesigncanreducethepressurevariationonthebladesandincreasetheangleofattack,leadingtohigherthrustandpropulsionefficiency. Toinvestigatetheeffectofhubcapfinsandskewedpropellers,weconductednumericalsimulationsusingathree-dimensionalNavier-Stokessolver.Wemodeledapropellerwithandwithouthubcapfins,andanotherpropellerwithandwithoutskew.Theoperatingconditionswerekeptconstant,andthesimulationresultswerecomparedtoanalyzetheeffectofthesedesignfeaturesonthepropulsionefficiency. Theresultsshowthattheadditionofhubcapfinscanindeedimprovepropulsionefficiency.Whenthefinswerepresent,theflowaroundthehubwassmootherandlessturbulent.Thisreducedthedragforceonthepropellerandincreasedthethrust,resultinginahigherpropulsionefficiency.Theimprovementinefficiencywasmoresignificantatlowerspeeds,wherethedragforceonthehubisrelativelyhigher. Similarly,theresultsindicatethatskewedpropellerscanalsoenhancepropulsionefficiency.Comparedtothestraightdesign,theskewedpropellergeneratedhigherthrustatthesameoperatingconditions.Thisisduetothebetterpressuredistributiononthebladesandtheincreasedangleofattack.However,theimprovementinefficiencywaslesspronouncedthanthatofthehubcapfins. Itisworthnotingthattherearesomelimitationsanduncertaintiesinnumericalsimulations.Theaccuracyoftheresultsisaffectedbythemeshquality,numericalalgorithms,andboundaryconditions.Therefore,experimentalvalidationisnecessa
