Section1:AdaptationTheory Adaptationtheory,alsoknownasfunctionalism,isasignificanttheoreticalframeworkinlinguistics.Itpositsthatlanguage,asameansofcommunication,evolvesovertimetoadapttothechangingneedsofitsusers.Languageisnotafixedentity;instead,itisshapedandmodifiedtomeetthedemandsofthesocietyinwhichitisused.Adaptationtheoryemphasizesthefunctionalaspectoflanguageanditsconnectiontothesocialandculturalenvironment. Section2:LanguageLandscape Thelanguagelandscapereferstothevisualrepresentationoflanguagesinpublicspaces.Itincludessigns,advertisements,billboards,andotherdisplaysthatcommunicateinformationtothepublic.Thelanguagelandscapenotonlyreflectsthelinguisticdiversityofacommunitybutalsodemonstratesthedominanceofcertainlanguagesandscripts.Itisshapedbyvariousfactors,suchashistorical,political,andeconomicinfluences. Section3:CaseStudies Toillustratethestudyoflanguagelandscapefromtheperspectiveofadaptationtheory,twocasestudiesarepresented.Thefirstcasestudyexaminesthelanguagelandscapeinamulticulturalcity,wheremultiplelanguagesareusedinpublicsignageandadvertisements.Thelanguagelandscapeinsuchacityreflectstheadaptationofdifferentlanguagestotheculturalandlinguisticneedsofvariouscommunities.Thesecondcasestudyfocusesonthelanguagelandscapeinatouristdestination.Here,thelanguagelandscapeisadaptedtocatertotheneedsandpreferencesoftourists,withmultiplelanguagesdisplayedtoenhancecommunicationa
