TheGermanFunctionalistTheory TheGermanFunctionalistTheory,alsoknownastheSystematicApproachtoTourism,wasproposedbyPlogandGunninthe1970s.Itsuggeststhattourismcanbeanalyzedintermsofitsfunctions,andhowdifferentstakeholdersintheindustry(e.g.,tourists,thehostcommunity,andthetourismindustry)derivebenefitsfromit.Thetheoryalsoemphasizestheimportanceofunderstandingthemotivesandbehavioroftourists,andhowtheyinfluencethedevelopmentoftourismactivities. ApplicationofGermanFunctionalistTheoryinJinMerchantTourismActivities ThetourismactivitiesofJinmerchantscanbeanalyzedusingtheGermanFunctionalistTheory.Firstly,thetourismactivitiesofJinmerchantsserveaneconomicfunction,astheyhelptostimulatethelocaleconomyofShanxiprovince.ByattractingtouristsfromdifferentpartsofChinaandtheworld,theJinmerchantscontributetothedevelopmentoflocalinfrastructure,suchashotels,restaurants,andtransportationnetworks.Thishelpstocreateemploymentopportunitiesforthelocalpopulation,aswellasgeneratingrevenueforthelocalgovernmentthroughtaxesandfees.
