Problems: 1.Lackofstudentparticipation:Oneprominentissueinclassroomquestioningisthereluctanceofstudentstoactivelyparticipateindiscussions.Studentsmayfeelanxious,lackconfidence,orfearmakingmistakes.Consequently,theyrefrainfromansweringquestionsoraskquestionsthemselves. 2.Teacher-dominatedquestioning:Anotherproblemisthatteacherstendtomonopolizethequestioningprocess.Theyoftenaskclosed-endedquestionsthatrequiresimplefactualanswers,limitingopportunitiesforstudentstodevelopcriticalthinking,problem-solvingskills,anddeepercomprehension. 3.Insufficientwait-time:Teachersoftenfailtoprovidesufficientwait-timeafteraskingaquestion,expectinganimmediateresponse.Students,especiallythosewhorequiremoretimeforprocessing,mayfeelrushedandhesitatetoanswerorprovideincompleteresponses. 4.Ineffectivestudentquestioning:Studentsfinditchallengingtoaskmeaningfulquestions,mainlyduetolimitedlanguageproficiency,lackofpriorknowledge,orinadequatecomprehensionofthetopic.Consequently,theirquestionsoftenlackdepthorrelevance.
