环境规制对工业绿色全要素生产率影响的区域异质性——基于省际面板数据的检验 Title:AStudyontheRegionalHeterogeneityintheImpactofEnvironmentalRegulationsonIndustrialGreenTotalFactorProductivity:EvidencefromInter-ProvincialPanelData Abstract: Environmentalregulationshavebeenimplementedworldwidetoaddresstheconcernsofenvironmentaldegradationcausedbyindustrialactivities.However,theeffectivenessoftheseregulationsmayvaryacrossregionsduetotheirdiverseeconomicstructures,naturalendowments,andpolicyimplementationcapabilities.Thisstudyaimstoexaminetheregionalheterogeneityintheimpactofenvironmentalregulationsonindustrialgreentotalfactorproductivity(TFP)usingpaneldatafromChineseprovinces.Thefindingscouldprovideimportantinsightsforpolicymakerstodesignmoretargetedandeffectiveenvironmentalregulations. 1.Introduction 1.1Background Industrialactivitiesplayacrucialroleindrivingeconomicgrowth,buttheyalsoleadtoenvironmentalpollutionandresourcedepletion.Tomitigatethesenegativeimpacts,countrieshaveimplementedvariousenvironmentalregulations.However,theeffectivenessoftheseregulationsmightdifferacrossregionsduetodisparateeconomicstructures,naturalendowments,andpolicyenforcementcapabilities. 1.2Objectives ThisstudyaimstoexaminetheregionalheterogeneityintheimpactofenvironmentalregulationsonindustrialgreenTFPusinginter-provincialpaneldatainChina.ByquantifyingtherelationshipbetweenenvironmentalregulationsandgreenTFP,thisstudyseekstoaddressthefollowingresearchquestions: -HowdoenvironmentalregulationsaffectindustrialgreenTFPattheregionallevel? -Aretheeffectsofenvironmentalregulationsconsistentacrossdifferentregions? 2.LiteratureReview 2.1TheoreticalFramework Theliteratureprovidesvarioustheoreticalframeworksthatexplaintherelationshipbetweenenvironmentalregulationsandindustrialproductivity.ThePorterHypothesissuggeststhatwell-designedregulationscanstimulatefirmstoundertakeinnovationandimproveproductivity,resultinginawin-winsituationforboththeenvironmentandtheeconomy.However,otherscholarsarguethatstringentregulationsmayimposeadditionalcostso
