Methods: 1.SamplePreparation: -FreshMa-Lileaveswerecollectedandwashedthoroughlywithdistilledwatertoremoveanyimpurities. -Theleavesweredriedatlowtemperature(40-50°C)untilaconstantweightwasachieved. -Thedriedleavesweregroundintoafinepowderandstoredinanairtightcontainerforfurtheruse. 2.PolysaccharideExtraction: -ThepowderedMa-LileavesweresubjectedtoethanolextractionusingaSoxhletextractorfor10hourstoremovelipidsandpigments. -Theresultingdefattedpowderwasthenextractedwithhotwater(90°C)for3hoursusingasolid-liquidratioof1:25(g/mL). -Theextractwascentrifuged,andthesupernatantwascollectedforfurtheranalysis. 3.PolysaccharidePurification: -Thesupernatantobtainedfromtheextractionwasconcentratedbyrotaryevaporationandthenprecipitatedbyaddingfourvolumesof95%ethanol. -Afterstandingovernightat4°C,theprecipitatewascollectedbycentrifugationandfurtherwashedwith70%ethanoltoremoveimpurities. -TheobtainedcrudepolysaccharideswerethenpurifiedbyDEAE-cellulosecolumnchromatography. 4.CharacterizationofMa-LiPolysaccharides: -Totalcarbohydratecontentwasdeterminedbythephenol-sulfuricacidmethodusingglucoseasastandard. -Molecularweightdeterminationwasperformedusinggelpermeationchromatography(GPC)equippedwitharefractiveindexdetectorandcalibratedwithstandarddextrans. -Monosaccharidecompositionanalysiswascarriedoutusinghigh-performanceliquidchromatography(HPLC)afteracidhydrolysisandderivatization. -Fourier-transforminfraredspectro
