Methods: 1.AnimalModel:Healthyadultpigswereselectedandallocatedintotwogroups:controlandsodiumpropionateinfusion. 2.SurgicalProcedure:Thepigsunderwentasepticsurgicalprocedureforappendicealcannulationandinfusion. 3.SodiumPropionateInfusion:Theanimalsinthetreatmentgroupreceivedsodiumpropionateinfusionthroughtheappendicealcannulaforapredeterminedperiod. 4.Sampling:Intestinalsamplesandbloodspecimenswerecollectedatspecifictimepointsbeforeandaftertheinfusionforvariousanalyses.
