Introduction Plantgrowthanddevelopmentareregulatedbyvarioussignallingpathways,includingstressresponse,celldifferentiation,andhormonesignalling.Proteinkinasesareimportantcomponentsinplantsignallingpathways,theyfunctionbyphosphorylatingspecifictargetstoregulateplantgrowthanddevelopment.Nattokinase(NK)isaproteinkinaseoriginallyisolatedfromsoybeannatto,whichhasbeenshowntoplayaroleinplantgrowthregulationandstressresponse.TheNKgenehasbeenclonedfromsoybeananditsexpressionhasbeendemonstratedinotherplants,suchasArabidopsis.Inthisstudy,weaimedtotransformandexpresstherecombinantNKgeneinArabidopsisandsoybeanplantstoinvestigateitspotentialforimprovingplantgrowthandstresstolerance.
