Introduction Withtheriseofpopulationandurbanization,thedemandforresidentialbuildingshasincreasedrapidly.Asaresult,architectsanddesignersareconstantlyseekingcost-effectiveyetefficientdesignsthatcanmeettheneedsofclientsandcomplywithregulations.Valueengineeringisaprocessthatcanhelpachievethesegoalsbyoptimizingthedesignforthevalueitprovidesandfindingalternativesolutionsthatcanreducecostswhilemaintainingorimprovingfunctionality. Thispaperexaminestheapplicationofvalueengineeringinthedesignofresidentialbuildingsandevaluatesitseffectivenessthroughacasestudy.Thestudyanalyzesthreedifferentresidentialdesignoptionsandproposesthebestdesignbasedonavalueanalysisapproach. ValueEngineeringinResidentialDesign Valueengineeringisaprocessthatstartswithidentifyingthefunctionsandcomponentsofthedesignthatareessentialtomeettheowner'srequirements.Theprocessalsoinvolvesidentifyingfunctionsthatarenotnecessaryorcanbeperformedbyalternativecomponentsordesigns.Valueengineeringcanhelpoptimizethedesignandreducethecostoftheconstructionwhileincreasingtheoverallvalueofthebuilding.
