“投入量假设”英语阅读中产出性词汇附带习得研究 Introduction Vocabularyknowledgeisessentialinattainingproficiencyinasecondlanguageandplaysahugeroleinunderstandingandproducingalanguage.Vocabularylearningisparticularlycrucialinacademicsettingsforstudentsastheyneedtocomprehendtheacademiccontentintheirclasses.Vocabularyknowledgeinasubjectmatterisanimportantpredictorofhighachievementinthatparticularknowledgedomain(Chenetal.,2017).WhenstudentslearnEnglishasaforeignlanguage,theyfacecognitiveoverloadduetothemassivenumberoflexicalitemstheyencounterdaily.Therefore,vocabularylearningstrategies,includinginputprocessing,outputprocessing,andotherstrategies,havebeendevelopedtoaidinvocabularyacquisition. Oneimportantvocabularylearningstrategyisinputprocessing,whichinvolvesacquiringnewvocabularywithoutnecessarilybeingconsciousofit.Inputprocessingisoftensub-skillbasedandcanbedividedintobottom-upandtop-downapproaches.Thebottom-upapproachinvolveslearninglanguageunitssuchasphonemes,morphemes,andwords,whilethetop-downmethodinvolvesderivingthemeaningofthetextbasedoncontextandbackgroundknowledge.Invocabularylearning,researchershaveidentifiedseveralfactorsthatcontributetotheeffectivenessofinputprocessing,includingthequantityandqualityoftheinput,thefrequencyofexposure,andthefocusofattention. Amongthesefactors,theinputquantity,ortheamountofexposurestudentreceives,isregardedasoneofthemosteffectivefactorsinvocabularyacquisitionresearch(Nation&Webb2011).TheinputquantityHypothesisistheprinciplethatgreaterexposuretoawordleadstohighervocabularyacquisition.Inordertostudytherelationshipbetweenthequantityofexposureandvocabularyknowledge,itisessentialtoestablishareliablemeasureoftheexposuretothetargetwords.
