Introduction JiangsuProvinceisoneofthemostdevelopedregionsinChina,withastrongeconomyandawell-establishededucationsystem.Highervocationaleducation,whichprovidesvocationaltrainingforstudentswhohavecompletedsecondaryeducation,hasbecomeanimportantchannelforstudentstoacquirepracticalskillsandgainemployment.Asthemostimportantgroupofprofessionalsinhighervocationalcolleges,Englishteachersareresponsibleforprovidingstudentswiththeknowledgeandskillsrequiredtosucceedintheirfuturecareers.Itis,therefore,importanttoinvestigatetheirprofessionaldevelopmentneedsinordertoimprovethequalityofteachingandlearninginhighervocationalcolleges.
