Objectives Theprimaryobjectiveofthisstudyistogeneratepermeabilitycoefficientfieldsusingdifferentgeostatisticalmethodsandcomparetheirimpactonpollutanttransportingroundwater.Thespecificobjectivesareasfollows: 1.Tocollectfielddataonpermeabilitycoefficientsfromdifferentregions. 2.ToanalyzethedatausingdifferentgeostatisticalmethodssuchasKriging,Co-Kriging,andSequentialGaussianSimulation(SGS)togeneratepermeabilitycoefficientfields. 3.Tousethegeneratedfieldsasinputparametersforanumericalgroundwatermodeltosimulatethetransportofahypotheticalpollutant. 4.Tocomparethepollutanttransportresultsobtainedfromdifferentpermeabilitycoefficientfieldsandassesstheirimpactongroundwatercontamination. Methodology Thestudycomprisestwomajorcomponents,namelythegenerationofpermeabilitycoefficientfieldsandthesimulationofpollutanttransportingroundwater.Themethodologyusedforeachcomponentissummarizedbelow. PermeabilityCoefficientFieldGeneration Thestudyareaisdividedintogridsofasuitablesize,andatotalofnfieldmeasurementsofpermeabilitycoefficientsarecollected.Thedataisanalyzedusingdifferentgeostatisticalmethods,namelyKriging,Co-Kriging,andSGS,togeneratepermeabilitycoefficientfields.ThegeneratedfieldsareevaluatedforaccuracyandcomparedwiththeoriginalfielddatausingstatisticalindicessuchasMeanAbsoluteError(MAE)andRootMeanSquareError(RMSE).
