LiteratureReview: PreviousresearchhasidentifiedvocabularyerrorsasamajorchallengeinEnglishwritingamonguniversitystudents.Manystudieshaveshownthatstudentsstrugglewithaccuratelyselectingandusingappropriatewordsintheirwriting.Theseerrorscannegativelyaffectthequalityoftheirwrittenworkandtheiroverallacademicperformance. AstudyconductedbyLi(2018)foundthatthemostcommontypesofvocabularyerrorsmadebyChineseuniversitystudentsintheirEnglishwritingweregrammaticalerrors,lexicalerrors,andregistererrors.Thestudyalsofoundthatfactorscontributingtotheseerrorsincludestudents'limitedknowledgeofEnglishvocabulary,lackofexposuretoauthenticEnglishtexts,andalackofspecificinstructiononvocabularyuse. Methodology: ThecurrentstudywilluseaqualitativeapproachtoanalyzethevocabularyerrorsmadebyuniversitystudentsintheirEnglishwriting.ThestudywillcollectdatafromwrittenassignmentssubmittedbystudentsinanEnglishwritingcourseataChineseuniversity.Thedatawillincludedifferenttypesofwritingassignments,suchasessays,reports,andresearchpapers. Thedatawillbeanalyzedusingcontentanalysistoidentifythetypesandfrequencyofvocabularyerrorsmadebystudents.Theanalysiswillalsoidentifythecontributingfactorstotheseerrors.Thestudywillalsoincludeinterviewswithstudentstogathertheirperceptionsandexperiencesabouttheirvocabularylearningandwritingskills.
